Leading an all-volunteer social media team while also serving as a key member of the strategy "kitchen cabinet" team. Also spearheading the development of the website and data management of supporters through NationBuilder. We aim to take out an incumbent who has been displaying extremist anti-democratic tendencies, and to recruit the voters we need I have helped write public policy statements on behalf of the candidate in a way meant to appeal across the political spectrum.

Data Science Fellow

Participant in a select cohort "beta-testing" a new data science bootcamp program for the Flatiron School's Washington DC campus, offering feedback on curriculum design and instructor performance. Completed a final project performing a unsupervised machine learning analysis of voter preferences and the implications that may have for our representative democracy.

Task Force Member: Climate Action, Global Ethic

Helped conceptualize successful $150,000 grant proposal for project to track & strengthen faith-based civil society carbon reduction commitments. Part of team that reviewed, authorized and promoted final draft of the Fifth Directive of the Global Ethic; now part of the team advising the K-12 Global Ethic project, preparing U.S. students for citizenship within a religiously diverse society.

Provided thoughtful feedback & grades on weekly reading reflections for a class of mostly energy & environmental policy students lacking familiarity with a behavioral approach to policymaking.

Director of Student Ministries

Coordinated weekly and monthly programming for approximately a dozen youth: after-school tutoring, game nights, Midwest excursions, Christian formation, and contemplative practices. Managed a volunteer team and developed collaborative partnerships with outside youth organizations.

In 2015, served as a member of the denomination's "Long Road to Justice" planning team for the triennial youth conference, creating experiential programming related to justice & sustainability for over 5,000 high school students and leaders. In 2016, formally joined the Pastoral Team and began offering spiritual care, sermons, and liturgical leadership for the whole congregation.

Steering Commitee Member

From 2013-2015, worked as paid Communications Coordinator, where I developed the visual identity and digital infrastructure of a then-nascent organization, now recognized as a national authority on engaging conservative Christians on climate change. During this time I accompanied the National Spokesperson on a speaking tour where I implemented strategies to convert event attendees into registered activists. Later I proposed and implemented a CRM-software solution that saved our parent organization thousands of dollars annually.

From 2016-2019, I served as volunteer chair of the Civic Engagement Subcommittee: overseeing 2016 election programming, supporting 2017 lobbying efforts on the Hill, prototyping 2018 voter outreach and engagement tools, managing and doing analysis on a database of media hits, and facilitating the drafting of the organization's consensus-based "Policy Principles" document. During this time, also mentored three cohorts of our flagship Climate Leadership Fellows program for undergraduates.

Funding of a multi-site ethnographic project with survey component, "The extension of Christian congregational practices to meet the Anthropocene", scheduled for October 2019 - February 2020. Planned deliverables include an ethnographic journalism piece that surveys innovative responses to ecological despair among Christian church communities.

Midway Fund [$3,000]

Funded "Climate Action Program Associate" role with the Parliament of the World's Religions, allowing me a front-seat view to the implementation of a separate grant received by the organization I had helped conceptualized. One notable deliverable was a qualitative coding of faith-based climate commitments via manual webscraping.

International Ministry Grant [$6,000]

Ten weeks of field research on how churches in Sweden responded to the refugee crisis. Deliverables included a public presentation in Chicago, an academic presentation in Toronto, and a personal essay published in a niche publication.
